Some people may think that they can buy a home without using an agent. That's true, you can, but why would you? Did you know that the buyers agent gets paid out of the transaction? The seller pays their agent who in turn offers 1/2 of that commission (most of the time it is half) to the buyers agent for bringing an able and willing buyer. The seller is paying someone to represent them in the transaction, why would you want to call the agent that the seller has hired? They are working for the seller, not you. You can find yourself an agent to work in your best interest. It will not cost you anything and will in fact, in most cases, save you thousands of dollars. Not only that, but your agent will give you access to everything on the market, not just the one house that you may be interested in viewing. Your agent will also determine a fair market value for the home you choose and negotiate in your best interest to get you the best price and terms. So, can you buy a house without your own agent, sure you can! Should you buy a home without your own agent? Absolutely not!
