The one thing we can hope for is that the interest will start dropping to make things happen. If interest rates go down, anyone who has been thinking of buying a home should take advantage of the buyers market. Homes are being priced lower than I have seen them in years!

Do you need help or not?

Some people may think that they can buy a home without using an agent. That's true, you can, but why would you? Did you know that the buyers agent gets paid out of the transaction? The seller pays their agent who in turn offers 1/2 of that commission (most of the time it is half) to the buyers agent for bringing an able and willing buyer. The seller is paying someone to represent them in the transaction, why would you want to call the agent that the seller has hired? They are working for the seller, not you. You can find yourself an agent to work in your best interest. It will not cost you anything and will in fact, in most cases, save you thousands of dollars. Not only that, but your agent will give you access to everything on the market, not just the one house that you may be interested in viewing. Your agent will also determine a fair market value for the home you choose and negotiate in your best interest to get you the best price and terms. So, can you buy a house without your own agent, sure you can! Should you buy a home without your own agent? Absolutely not!

Buyers Market

It is still a buyers market out there and it is a great time to buy. If you are first time home buyer, you shoud take advantage of this exciting opportunity to finally be a home owner while the getting is good. There are so many homes to choose from and the prices are the lowest they have been in years. We have no way of telling what is to come in the near future. Prices could go up, but why wait and take that chance. Buying now is the way to go and could get you in that home you could never have gotten into 2 years ago.

Buyer Report

Did you know that it could take up to 3 days for a new listing to show up on Realtor.com. If you are searching homes by using Realtor.com you could be missing out on a great new home that fits your criteria because someone else received in their in-box from their buyers agent the moment it came on the market. Don't miss out on a new listing - hire yourself a buyers agent to ensure you have representation and that you receive new listings as soon as they come on the market.

Is market picking up?

I have noticed a significant increase in the amount of showings that are happening on my listings lately. Could this mean the market is picking up or is it a fluke? Personally, I think we may still be in a slump but possibly slight increase in activity after the holidays. Hope it means better news for sellers and that the buyers are moving forward. The market is still slow. Seems to be considerably more showings on properties yet still no takers. Prices of homes are getting better for the buyers, yet sellers are still concerned about where the falling prices will stop.
